Early Bloomers
The small swath of garden contained by the stone wall is nearly full of these gorgeous early bloomers. Henbit, Bitter hairy cress, and Purple dead nettle have a delicate appearance, while the Prickly lettuce is sturdy and dense.
I sat with this tiny ecosystem for about half an hour this afternoon. There were a few bees and a cabbage moth flitting around. Black ants marching from here to there, pillbugs looking roly-poly, and a few other crawlies I did not identify.
It was of great benefit to my mind, spirit, and body to be immersed into earth and air. Nature is my best grounding place, best healing place, best place to let go of whatever is heavy or hurtful and tune into growth and acceptance.
I harvested a big paper bag full of green goodness for the chickens. As usual, they were thrilled with the food and with having piles of green stuff to scratch through. Happy chickens = happy life.
The front door is open. The scent of freshly disturbed earth and green goods fills the living room. There’s a little sparrow in the feeder among the rose canes. I’m going to rest in the CoRC and watch him until I fall asleep.
Peace and love from the Bear Path.

I love watching the land wake up. ❤️
